A tough and long mountain that was a knockout stage: Keldermann, Dumuolin, Ciccone and Sean Yates say goodbye to the giro

The stage was a tight fight for the trio Carapaz, Landa and Bardet, but they were not strong enough to distance another trio, and a tough mountain stage ended in a 6 man sprint:

Almeida fought hard to remain in contact and Lòpez mantained the pink jersey after some bad luck on the final climb

And look out for the oldies… Valverde, Nibali and Pozzovivo : 120 years in 3 but they were all in the top 10

The Game

WIth such a reshuffle in the stage we had JR Weinberg’s Twin Palms scoring 121 points. Not sure this is the record but sure the guy knows his game: Pink jersey in 2013, Mountains in 2013 and 2012, most stages won in 2013.

Well JR has in his team the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of the stage… well done. if only the last 6 players were sprinters, you would have smashed the game

Rene van Noort’s Loeki de Leeuw takes the lead for just 1 point on Fred de Witt’s The White Tornadoos.

The guy is dangerous, he won already 4 times with 3 second places…. will he make it 5?

Twin teams

It already happened in 2019 when Massimiliano Cividini’s Scappati di casa & Alessio Ciardi’s Atletico Lasonil won the overall classification with exactly the same team

Now we have again two teams that are exactly the same: DanieleCaf’s Ultimi in classifica and Rita Visonà’s barcollo ma non mollo. they are travelling in pairs but currently are in 43rd position

The mountains

Diego Rosa had a long run out on the road and scored a huge amount of points (80).

Diego Rosa is powering Marco Pogliano’s Pian del Lupo that dominates the stage and takes the lead on the mountains and Andrea Quadrelli’s Dagospia second on stage and classification,

Third on the stage and climbing the mountain classification is Chiara Abbattista’s Abba team, slowly climbing the mountains
