The stage
Stage 2 in Budapest was a time trial (TT).
Usually time trials are boring but this time courtesy of Yates, Van Der Poel and Dumoulin the top three stages were fought until last minute with the podium as above
Lennard KÄMNA was in the hot seat all day and was out of the games (8th) at the end of the stage
Rick Zabel (son of Erik, 6 times green jersey at the Tour and 4 Milano Sanremo) won the mountain competition (less than 100 meters climb) ahead of Pascal EENKHOORN and Sean Yates
The Competition
3 Teams had KÄMNA on their Roster: El Pistolero by Luca Henning, Rivoluzione d’ottobre by Luca Monducci, and SUMAPAZ by Handrey Correa. The guy KÄMNA is playing hard and showing himself upfront every day, but it is not enough
The stage has been won by a tandem of Romagnelli’s Romagnelli-Gazprom (but they are cheating: Andrea and Marco made one team in two, we should put a penalty to them and halve the points) and Nasly Nissen’s Ta Ta Ta Taaa ……. Rodania
Romagnelli is the third rookie to win a stage (in 2 stages)
In GC Luca Canziani’s Il Ciclista per caso is taking a lead of 11 points on the second. The guy is running
Black Jersey is Michelangelo’s Michelangelo with 0 points in 2 stages
The Monkey
This year we introduced “The Monkey”, a complete random team.
There are three levels of competition:
- Catch the monkey – Exact points of the monkey – Big Tomato is matching this
- Beat the monkey – 50 teams have more points than the monkey
- Beaten by the monkey – 6 teams
The Mountains
Well, Guess who could have Pascal EENKHOORN in his team?
Obviously Michele Bellon’s Trattoria al Curvone 3
MIchele is a serious competitor for the black jersey and generally shines in the mountains. This year you will have a tough component in Michelangelo
