The Giro

The giro has now ended and it was won by EGAN BERNAL that dominated the second week with two stage vicotries but struggled on the third week (if you can call struggling arriving no later than 5th in mountain stages)

Second was a surprising DAMIANO CARUSO a lifetime spent as a domestique he had his opportunity this year since his team leader Mikel Landa fell as early as stage 5. Damiano gained confidence day over day with a final attack on the last mountain stage where he won the stage and secured his podium spot

Third was SIMON YATES, that finally proved himself able to gain form in the third week. He closes with a stage victory, some strong attacks to Bernal and a solid third place

In the mountains Geoffrey Bouchard thank to the many points achieved in the breakaways gained the Blue Jersey in front of Egan Bernal and Damiano Caruso

The Fantasy Giro

As you know, following the 21 stages there is a bonus stage that gives extra points based on general classification.

This stage was won by Edward Caley’s Saddle Sore who makes it 6 victories (in 9 stages). Edward moved from 42nd on stage 14 to 16th on the final classification. Impressive.

The giro was won by Loris Favarato and his Cavallo Goloso team.
